I have not done much coding at all lately due to a combination of laziness, frustration with the one and only language I know (any advice on a good language to pick up for making 2D games with some modern flair?) and my job.

But on the bright side of things, I have a wonderful girlfriend now… Unfortunately, it’s a long distance relationship for now. She’s English, you see. I visited her in August though and had a lovely time. I’d never been out of the US before, so traveling internationally was quite the experience for me. I even was lucky enough to get held up at customs… Turns out the “I’m visiting people I met on the internet” story didn’t go over too well.

Anyway, how are you anyway?

Card Hunter is in beta, Captain Jameson is still in slow cook development, and Cumulo Nimblers is going to be exhibited in some cool new places. What’s new with you Chris?

I only found that yesterday, when searching for good CN screenshots. $5 and half an hour battling their awful digital reader system later I finally got to read it :)

Haxe is pretty solid. NME is mostly solid, and any wonky bits you can reach in and tweak yourself.

@brachyonic – Hmm, maybe, if there’s enough interest. Flash support for control pads would probably make me more keen on a web version. I currently have no linux boxes on hand so building and testing would be a bit hard for linux native.

I keep meaning to give haxe a try, I guess this is yet another indication that I should.
