Several hours in to my current test game I started to wonder – how big is this ‘verse? I whipped up a quick debug map (pictured) to see what was going on. See the letters huddled together in the middle? That’s everywhere I’ve been. All four hundred or so dots are undiscovered stations. The ‘verse is rather big.

Wow, that’s awesome. I can’t wait to play this – it sounds epic.

  2. Berin says:

Epically huge. Do they get more hard/fanciful/unlovely or whatever adjective may apply to them as to get further away from the centre?

  3. sdmsanilover says:

wow farbs! youve created a universe even you, the creator, dont know! This is out of control. I urge you to either:
    1. Stop this immidiqately (NOT RECOMMENDED)
    2. Spend your time working on it
in order to stabilize the security of the free world :)

great job so far, and good luck.

  4. Vaconcovat says:

I like Berin’s Idea. You should have “badlands”, that are near the outer of the ‘verse. It could contain some really badass stations, bandits or even that peacekeeping command i always wanted to go to (info buoys). Please tell me Peacekeeping Command actually exists?

@vaconcovat/berin – thats what i was thinking he should do with that area outside of the “grid” in the previous games. have it be the dark or deep space where theres all kinds of weird shit going on. and everything is hostel. maybe make it like deep sea where things glow and flash lights

  6. ryan says:

hostile* pretty sure i dont want them offering me a place to crash during my European trek.

  7. Vaconcovat says:

Yeah. I say we have those clone/faulty peacekeepers out there.

  8. Farbs says:

Currently the area off grid is a void. There are no grid lines. There are no other ships. Normally this would be dull, but the limited oxygen supply and map data makes it eerie and dangerous.

Maybe I’ll hide something out there later. Maybe.

  9. Vaconcovat says:

    Yes. Easter Egg GET.

  10. Apollo (previously Andrew) says:

is there any chance of stealing O2 from other ships, like if you get them down to just there command module then you can suck out there remaining oxygen. Sadistic as it sounds it could enable you to travel out into the “void” if there were other ships out there.

  11. Vaconcovat says:

    … How is that Eew?

  12. Captain Darkshadow says:

“Space is big, really vastly mindbonglingly big, and you thought it was a long way to the shops on a rainy day, well thats just peanuts to space!”

Awesome sound like your Universe is living up to to things! :D
