I took a little extra time this week to work on Captain Jameson, knocking out some of the auxillary features required for other people to enjoy it. Right now all the game mechanics are in and I can wander among them for hours, but I fear anyone not familiar with the game won’t find their way through its morass of vestigial features and undocumented systems. I need to prune back the weeds and lay some paving stones. A December release is looking plausible but I can’t honestly guarantee it, unfortunately.
In other Captain Forever news, I spoke at length about Captain Jameson and other things with Travis Boisvenue who then transcribed the conversation and published it here. You’ll find the page peppered with new Jameson screenshots, and marked by my apparent need to say “kind of”, “sort of”, and “just” in almost every sentence.
Captain Forever is also enjoying a little gallery time at InnerSpace, an exhibition in Melbourne curated by Christian McCrea. If you’re nearby please pop in, then let me know if the setup is as amazing as it looks in the photo.
Right. Now I’m off to code a cloud-based savegame system so you lot can log in to Captain Jameson from any browser.

Lookin’ good.
niceeeeeee. id rather it be really done than rushed to get it in december.
also, if you need another month to get the end game to be excellent i wouldn’t argue. the end game in imposter left me wishing for something more.
Listen, I honestly dont mind when its released, (As long as you dont do a VaLVE), just keep us updated! Out-of-context screenshots work great!
I’m gonna be the voice of impatience here, purely for the sake of devilish advocacy:
HURRY UP DAMNIT!
Seriously though, take your time and make it good man, I know you will. Been waiting for another interview for a while too, thanks for posting that :)
Ok Just read that interview, Its really cool to get a look into how all the stuff that I think makes your fans love your games came about, and it makes me 91238412983×10^23 times more excited about Captain Jameson :-)
Nice interview, thanks for linking it. Best of luck with projects current, secret and future.
I’ve been reading all your blog posts since I bought in 11 months ago. This upcoming episode continues to look really cool. I hope you leave it complicated and long enough, and strike the perfect balance between playability and depth. Keep up the great work!
Good interview, No questions, best of luck!
