Holding her breath | Farbs.org

TONK TONK

Captain Barada taps the top left corner of her VDU.

Hmm. I should restock oxygen while I’m here. No good exploring without a full tank. I’ll jot down this station’s coordinates too, so I can cut back when I need another breath.

Hmmm… oxeygen? is that for EVA or are do you need air within your ship now?

    Damnit Farbs, you tease!

  2. Apollo (previously Andrew) says:

DUDE, seriously like where this is going :)

  3. nckomodo says:

    hymen.

  4. ryan says:

ugh resources, you better make “x” resource generation modules.

  5. Chris says:

I wonder if there will be a map too, to literally jot down those coordinates, or something to remind yourself.

  6. Apollo (previously Andrew) says:

Hey could we expect a Way point system or would we have to actually but out a compass???

  7. Quintilian says:

Apollo: Not to be rude; but how the hell will a compass function in “deep space” when travelling interplanetary/-stellar distances with no common magnetic field?…. :)

  8. Apollo (previously Andrew) says:

I didnt say it would be a normal compass, some sort of space comapass, it seems like it would work since your workong on a 2D plane.

  9. Farbs says:

Heheh. See the NAV box at the top of the HUD? It works. It even works in both Successor and Impostor, but in those episodes there isn’t much to find.

  10. ryan says:

Farbs, why does the game space end after like 1000 units or what ever the number? when ever i hit that line it felt like i was entering dark space. be cool if you could work that into the game. have some weird shit happening out there.

  11. Farbs says:

Yeah, I’ll have to think about things like that later.

  12. Captain Darkshadow says:

In Captain Forever I was curious enough to find what happens when you pass y=999 when you do you just jump back to y=-999 giving the game space the topology of a doughnut :P

Given that the real Universe might have a similar Topology it would be fitting to keep it as it is, also now you have fixed objects it would be very cool and slightly strange that if you travelled in a stright line for ages you end up back where you started! :)

A world with an area 2,000 units square seems large enough, unless Farbs your planning a larger map?

  13. Farbs says:

I’ve thought about it, but for now I’m focussing on what happens in the middle of the map. I’ll worry about the edges later :)
