Something that bugged me about CF and CS is that there’s no reason to build large, intricate ships. All they did was make me easier to shoot. I would never build a ship like the one pictured on the left here, for instance. Now I do it all the time. I have to haul those modules out to scrap stations, so I can sell them and use the profits to fund repairs and better gear. It’s surprisingly satisfying, chugging along in a big ol’ rig like that. Then I dump the parts and zoom off in a sleek fighter configuration.
<3 Farbs

I’ve always had this exact idea. Good job Farbs
May I beta test plz? :3
Oh, God, Farbs, I want to do this so bad.
This is exactly what I wanted from Captain Impostor. It was a good experiment, I got some good play out of it, but -this- is why I gave you money.
You are flagrantly excellent.
Ah, so there WILL be currency. Good. May i ask if those modules on the station are of a new rank? Or are they reserved-for-stations?
Also, if we’re talkin’ beta testing or bug testing, though i doubt it, pick me.
The best thing to do is just build a U-shaped ship and scoop up the spare parts. Then, you can just haul around all of your spare parts without them slowing you down.
@mjoe Just speculating but if one of the goals is to truck around parts, then anything your pushing will probably slow you down even though it hasnt in previous versions..
No, i once found that i couldn’t fly straight because there was a detached girder floating inside my ship’s construction (i had a big ship). I also got killed because another ship turned around the station i was attacking.
I’m pretty sure, even in successor, that you couldn’t push a station with an alpha booster. So what you are pushing DOES affect your speed.
now this changes up the game, however its a feature it seems alot of people have wanted to see from the start. I await more info with glee :D
Farbs there are still a few problems to the larger ships, that if you tend to build them big your inner modules tend to be a lower grade than the rest, but you can’t change these easily as removing them removes all the other parts too, which you really don’t want to do unless you have a lot of time and no enemies around! which is pratically never.
Still selling old parts is still a pretty awesome addition!
awesomeness. this will make the game so much more fun. its already ridiculously fun so its going to go plaid or something further.
Soooo…. Cargo modules too, right? Right?
:D
Looking great, can’t wait to get my hands on it.
Really nice!! I’m not sure that i can wait!! What is approximative release date?
December.
